What a weekend! Saturday we finished off the last of birthday celebrations with a train themed party for Hudson's 1st. Although a ton of planning went towards making it a really great day for Hudson and guests alike, I also wanted the party to have a really chill vibe...just like our boy. I tried to mainly focus on who not what, and why more than the when and where. A mid morning nap definitely contributed to the party's success. Oh, and Hudson managed to squeeze one in too.
As for the details! Above you can see I opted for double fudge brownies with a candied rail road symbol instead of cake, while the babes were treated to our favorite chocolate chip cookies. How cute are these centerpieces that we used on our tables out back? Minus the balloon we simply used blocks, a jar style vase, and a train set we already owned to create kid friendly and theme appropriate decor.
The party had a navy, red and turquoise color scheme in addition to the classic train theme. It was kind of a bright and modern take on an old favorite. Pictured above: we greeted guests with fresh tracks leading up to #thehudsonexpress, and an "all aboard" sign letting our friends know the party awaited them inside. Don't mind the slippers, a mama's work starts bright and early on party day.
Pictured below: the kids got to take home "huff and puff" bubbles, while the adults bagged a few scoops of "rail mix" as a thank you for coming. Finally, no party of Hudson's would be complete without Veggie Sticks...which is one of his favorite snacks.
Don't forget to stop by tomorrow for a peek at our family photo's from #thehudsonexpress.
*Thank you to everyone who made it out to celebrate with us. It's a day we will always remember, and want you to know we truly appreciate your love and generosity. For our friends who weren't able to make it - we missed you!
Xo,T.
