V A C A Y

We're Palm Springs bound for an early 30th birthday celebration this weekend, and I literally can't wait! Which explains why I started packing two days early...

You may be asking yourself, "did she jack that watermelon bag right out of Savvy's Easter basket haul?" Of course not, but the Easter Bunny may or may not have picked up a duplicate.

You can follow our weekend mini adventure via Instagram + the hashtag #hoorayhitstheroad.

Craving Coral

One of my favorite styling tricks is to add a pop of color to an otherwise simple color scheme with my shoes/accesories/bag. Coral, emerald green and cobalt blue are at the top of my list for spring. What accent colors do you gravitate towards?

Rain, Rain...

Don't you dare go away!

Sometimes I like to just grab a wristlet and pretend I don't need four pounds of "essentials" and a baby bag. Saturday was one of those days. It was also a rainy day in the late afternoon, in addition to the day I realized this dress shrunk after getting dry cleaned.

The dress may be headed to the donate pile, however these boots are just getting started! Get ready to see them on constant repeat until further notice...which looks like it may have been today, since I wrote this post over the weekend.

Clear skies and sunshine is fine by me! (Sorry boots.)

It's All Happening

I'm sure you remember Penny Lane's mantra for living in the moment and appreciating all that's happening around you from the movie Almost Famous back in 2000. Well, that is exactly what came to mind when I opened Instagram to find that Nordstrom Rack had featured my photo on their profile over the weekend. 4,000 (plus some) "likes" later and I still can't believe it! I'm so appreciative for the exposure and new followers, but even more so for those of you who were celebrating along with me. Your support for what I do here is amazing and it really inspires me to keep going when pulling off this whole blogger/mama thing gets a little hectic.

Speaking of hectic, our weekend was nuts! It all kicked off Saturday morning with our favorite two year old's birthday party at the park. I decided on this look because it can easily transition from day to night by trading the kicks for heels and adding a bright poppy lip. When you pack as much into a weekend as we do, transitional yet comfortable pieces are key.

Plus...what's better than a classic pair of Converse?

Secret

...Victoria's Secret!

Seriously, I don't know why these glosses don't get more hype. They are the real deal. In fact, most of the beauty products I've tried from Vickie's are pretty amazing. I just picked these up, but after playing with them this afternoon I can tell you they rival MAC's Cremesheen Lip Glass. These Color Shine Glosses offer a generous color pay off, aren't tacky/sticky, and stay put for a few hours without needing to be reapplied. Plus you can't beat six full size tubes for twenty five dollars. And they smell so, so good! But enough of my review, these swatches speak for themselves...

Birken-mocks

I can't tell you how good it feels to be back! I feel like I have literally been sick (having a cold then the flu back to back was brutal) for days. Anyway, I'm so done with that and can't wait to get back to blogging. I also wanted to thank you for sticking with me while I focused on getting well.

Since today was really our first day "out in the wild" I wanted to look pulled together but still really comfortable. Wearing nothing but your pajama's for days on end makes skinny jeans seem like a real chore. Having said that, nothing is more comfortable than these JCrew shorts that I have been loving lately. Just add these Target Birken-mocks to keep your comfort game strong.

Speaking of getting well, I'd love to hear your tips and remedies for getting and maintaining a strong immune system. Leave me ante in the comment section below or tweet me at @traci_taylor.

Missy Mouse

You guessed it...
Still. Sick.

I'm so tired of being out of commission I literally can't even talk about it! Instead, I'll leave you with this adorable little mouse which has been officially added to Savannah's birthday wish list. Isn't she cute?

Just Run With It

When Cory called this morning and said that a co-worker had noticed me on BuzzFeed, I couldn't believe it. It's the first time I've ever seen my name or photo's published somewhere other than my blog. Clearly they were just sighting where the photo they used came from, but I'm going to run with it! Much like Savannah is seen doing here. In a fancy dress. At the park. You know what they say, there's no such thing as "bad" publicity! Or a bad day to play dress up for that matter.
You can check it out via Buzzfeed HERE.
Which basically just features the photo I took a few days back. You know, this one:
Crazy right?! I'm pretty stoked. Even if it means I'm a clean freak. Or an impulsive shopper. Both of which I can neither confirm or deny. Did I mention Buzzfeed has 218k followers? Eeek!

12 oz.

The struggle is real! I adore how this little miss has been putting her Easter Starbucks cup to good use lately. However, after the weekend we had, we are both going to need way more than a tall cup come Monday morning...

Thank you for all of your prayers, we are still a house full of sickies but we are hanging in.

Spring Cleaning | Part II (Cleaning Products)

Part of what I love about the blogs that I follow are the recommendations. Aside from the fashion and home decor inspiration, one of the aspects I truly enjoy is learning about a new product, shop, or tip. So at the risk of sounding like a walking advertisement I want to share one of my new favorite Spring cleaning products. Well, technically one cleaning product and the hand soap I keep next to it by my kitchen sink. You guys, these are so good. They are earth friendly and smell amazing. The lemon verbena dish soap isn't too sweet or overwhelming at all, and the honeysuckle hand soap has literally replaced my Bath & Body Works ones. Ya, I went there...

I hope you enjoy these tips and feel inspired to try something new. Are there any posts in my Spring Cleaning series you would like to see next? Let me know! You can comment below, on Instagram, or Tweet me! My email is hellotohooray@gmail.com if you prefer. Can't wait to hear from you.

Rooted

Easter was such a moving experience for us, and had me thinking even more about the babes and our faith. I've been giving a lot of thought to how Cory and I can be really intentional about bringing Savannah and Hudson up in Christ. So when I picked up Savvy from school this week, and saw this sign out front, I immediately knew this was the term or idea I had been searching for...
Rooted - adjective
1. Having roots.
2. Firmly implanted.

Colossians 2:7
"Let your roots grown down into him and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.

Easter | Part Two, "Hop To It"

The next morning we woke up bright and early to squeeze in time to see what EB left in our baskets, then it was off to church. Immediately after we headed over to my parent's house for more Easter shenanigans.

My mom put on a really delicious brunch for us, and then we all headed down to the park (they live on a park, so we just open up the back gate and head down) to play with the babe's new goodies. It was the type of day you look back on and remember with so much joy. Just a chill, good vibes only type of celebration. The kind I'm allllll about. The brunch spread may have had something to do with it...but then again, I'm a sucker for my mom's french toast casserole.

Easter | Part One

We kicked off our Easter weekend with a small and leisurely family breakfast at home Saturday morning. (See the kid friendly/festive table setup HERE). I really try and carve out some time, especially over a busy weekend like this, for our little family to do something special together. Later that day we headed over to Cory's parent's house for a beautiful Easter dinner. The babes loved looking for eggs and opening their baskets.

All of the details for each look is below!
