It's so much easier to face a new week when you feel like you really took advantage of the weekend. I usually wake up Monday morning wishing there was just one more day between Saturday and Sunday. A day where I could really enjoy the weekend and get some R&R. When chores are at the top of your list for the weekend, you know it's time for a serious self evaluation. Am I the only one who finds it difficult to just relax? Oh, I am? That's what I thought. But just incase you happen to "know someone" who could use a little help unwinding, here's how I plan on fixing it. ASAP.
1. Be more organized. Having a schedule and using better time management would allow me to get more done during the week, freeing up valuable weekend time.
2. Let it go. In the famous words of Elsa, I need to let it go. Guilt over (insert to-do list here) isn't making me any more efficient. It's an unnecessary pressure that I don't need or want.
3. Embrace it. Doing "nothing" is a learned skill, and I want to freakin' master it. It seems to me that part of truly relaxing is enjoying it. So I plan on soaking it up. How? By being present and not worrying about what's next, or still left to do.
I took Sunday afternoon as the perfect time to start taking my own advice. Between dinner at Pieology and a ride on the carousel, I left the Irvine Spectrum wondering why we don't do this more often...
